About Me

The reasons I decided to Join MM.
My goals are to be able to fully suport my family with my art within the next few months and be part of a gallery event by years end. I have decided to take the chance to make photography my carrier not just a major hobby. I have some work in a local gallery and have just entered a deal with a local store to take portraits of kids for them. On another photographer's advice I decided to join this site. I hope in using this site I will be able to expand my portfolio. As well as have a reliable source for models should I have a request by an employer (custom cars etc.). I would also like to be able to
expland my gallery work mainly black and white fine art nudes and portrature. I found in my experience it is almost impossible to find men willing to model seriously. In the past my models have been my wife and friends or referrals from friends. Finding models in that way is slow at best and not all of them are serious when trying to model.

The best way to contact me is by this site or my website email [email protected]

More information about me and the basis of my work.

I am a photographer based out of Ashburn, Virginia. My focus in the arts is fine art figurative using the human form. I have found that I work best with the human form along with dramatic lighting, and shadowing, witch invokes emotion from the viewing audience. I feel that when body language is connected with the right composition of light, more emotion and back story is conveyed better than I could show through other forms of art. I typically use nudes for this effect. A nude body is a very strong tool, since everyone can relate to them so easily. When a photograph is composed well, it transcends the image and even makes the viewer forget about the nudity. It is also easy for the viewers to lose themselves in the photograph and start to feel the same way the person in the photograph appears to be feeling. I tend to have a subtle religious overtone in my art. That is a direct reflection of my life, the good, bad, and the experiences that I don't wish to deal with again. My personal belief in God had taken me through it all, so I tend to use it in my art. I feel that any serious artist, no matter the medium used or the subject of the art, projects a little bit of themselves into their work. I allow everything to pass through me and show it all in my art, the good, bad, and sad.

I still use medium format film, since I feel there is a warmth and quality in it, especially black and white, that digital still hasn't mastered. I truly care about what I produce, so I stay with film for black and white photographs. Although it is more expensive and time consuming, I really think that the finished project is well worth it. This care is carried through all of my work, whether I am working for myself or others.
