Hi! My name is Sydney Pertl and I am 20 years old. I am a student in an intensive art atelier here in Seattle, Monday through Friday, nine to five. I've been drawing since I could pick up a pen (my first *real* drawing was of an octopus), and I have been training as a figurative/portrait artist since I was thirteen years old at the Gage Academy of Fine Art, then called the Seattle Academy of Fine Art. Even though I've had a few unwelcome detours, I am lucky enough to be able to continue what I love here in Seattle <3

Most of the work I have and will post in my profile is directly from life. It's definitely preferable to working from photos, though I realize that not everyone can pose for x amount of time in twenty minute segments! When I do choose to work from photos, each are posed, positioned, and lighted by me, so no matter which work you're viewing, the input and emotions I render on the page are always my own.

If you REALLY love my work, and you'd love to have a portrait done but live too far away to set up a photoshoot, I can work off a preexisting photo that you love if it meets my shadow and reflected light standards. If you're interested, don't hesitate to send an image my way and what you have in mind, and I'll get back to you with prices if your photo works. Just remember, the more shadows, the more interesting the piece. No shadows = pancake face = not good and no fun to draw. Haha! XD

As a full time student and professional artist, please understand that my work is my sole source of income. <3 My prices range anywhere from a couple hundred to a little over a thousand dollars for a piece, depending on what you have in mind. Keep in mind that my prices, divided by the amount of time I put into a piece, almost ALWAYS come in at below minimum wage -- even for states like Utah! At this time, I am only offering commissioned drawings (any dry media). If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
