I know this section is titled "About Me" and the following is written in the third person, but I just can't say it any better than this...



When Geoffrey Ashley puts a naked woman in front of his camera lens, she owns it.  Otherwise, she wouldn't be there.  You can see the confidence and confrontation all over her face.

His images are erotic, but so saturated with female empowerment there's literally no room behind the shutter for the "Male Gaze."  It's been kicked to the curb by unapologetic female sexuality — something that's too often hard to capture.

Ashley does this in quick, "caught" moments of flash pops, whip pans and rounded corners.

While other photographers approach erotica either gazing up at women as fantasies or down at them as objects, Ashley looks them squarely in the eye as equals.  And it shows.
