Hello, my name is Deniz Berkin. Thank you for visiting my profile.

The photos that I take are my attempts to capture a hidden beauty. To that end I never strive for a perfect photo.
I accept and encourage pictures that are blurry, out of focus, poorly composed and poorly lit. I like to take photos that have a rawness and honesty. For me mistakes and failures help to capture a certain spirit of reality the way I see it.

I shoot exclusively on film using toy and vintage cameras such as Holga's, Diana's and various pinhole cameras.

I am a filmmaker as well and have shot over 75 short films and music video's. I serve as the President of the Independent Film Coop of Ottawa (IFCO) for the last several years.

If we shoot together you can expect a relaxed yet professional shoot. As well I always pay my all models a small artist fee. You are welcome to all the photos that we produce together.
