Hello All!!!!
    My name is Karen Rampersad.  I'm sure like most of you on the Mayhem, modeling was a childhood dream.  I first wanted to become a model after my Mom put me into a pageant at the ripe age of 12.  That's when I won an award for "Most Likely To Become A Model." My Indian and African American mixed hertiage would often have people approach me wondering what I was and if I modeled.  So, I decided. To take a stab at it.... TRIED...... EVERYTHING!!! I was in Model Search America, several pageants, John Casablancas, and much more... but no success came of it.  I even went to several agencies, but I was either too black, too tall, not skinny enough... you name it, they said it.  I heard "NO" so many times that I started to believe that I would never fufill my dream.... never become a model.  There were so many times when I just wanted to give up... but something in me just wouldn't let me. 
      While looking through an Ebony Magazine, I saw a casting call to be an Ebony Fashion Fair Model.  Before I even applied, I just knew I wasn't going to get it.  Like I said, I heard "No" so many times, and that's all I knew....but I applied anyways.  To my great surprise, they called me to come to Chicago for an audition.  Out of the thousands of young ladies that sent in their application, I was one of the lucky individuals to be granted the wonderful opportunity of becoming an Ebony Fashion Fair Model.  I have modeled for Ebony for about a year and a half and absolutely loved the experience!!!! I was able to tour the Nation and even leave the country to model high fashion designer clothing full time. 
    With the experience and knowledge that I now possess, I plan to be THAT next supermodel.  I am working hard to get my name known and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.  Lastly, please please please FIGHT FOR YOUR DREAM.
