Liza is a freelance portrait, fashion and fine art photographer based in San Francisco, California.  Liza is most passionate about photographing people of all sorts: writers, artists, actors, models and musicians. 

A medium format film shooter and darkroom printer at heart for over 15 years, Liza at last moved to shooting digitally in 2006.  Shooting Madonna's concert was the first time Liza ever used a SLR digital camera.  Although challenging at times, Liza continues to embrace the digital learning curve and loves the freedom and stability digital provides.

Liza's style usually consists of shooting in natural light combined with reflective or soft box lighting.  She likes to keep things simple and uncluttered as possible and enjoys working primarily on location.  Liza treats her digital post production and retouching the same as she would film and believes in not overdoing it when it comes to working in Photoshop.  Liza states:

"Photoshop and digital photography are powerful tools I take advantage of in many forms, yet digital in my opinion provide us too many options.  I think photographers sometimes utilize digital power thus creating visual stimulation overload and unrealistic retouched images.  I still retouch my photographs, yet I like 'keeping it real.'  I am the same shooter compared to when I was using film, yet I have more freedom in controlling my images and peace of mind during my shoots.  You're looking at a gal who used to hand load 120mm film onto steel reels in pitch dark hoping that my film wouldn't get dinged up in the canister.  I processed everything myself in the wet darkroom and I still remember the heartbreaks of ruining film.  Digital has really changed my life."

Liza would like to work and travel in New York, San Francisco and Europe to pursue her passion and career as an editorial/fashion photographer.  She is ready to take her work to another level and believes that working with other visionary artists in the field will enable Liza to grow further as an artist.  She is available to work with modeling agencies, art directors, stylists, make up artists, fashion stylists, and other photographers so as to push Liza in a new direction with her work.
