Susan Gathoni Kimani is an enthusiastic artist. From writing, painting, playing piano to making clothes, jewelry even books, she believes in expressing her creativity in all its varying forms through various mediums. Curious and ambitious, Susan began her career in Africa, competing and injecting herself in the Kenyan fashion industry. She interned in both mainstream and underground fashion labels in NYC while building her personal brand. From picking up coffee orders to measuring samples and sewing for sale she tenaciously took everything as an opportunity to learn. Inspired by her Kenyan heritage, Susan rebels against the common notion that women should be seen not heard. Susan creates fashion that speaks volumes without one having to utter a single word.
