About Me

Currently shooting on a strictly limited basis using both digital and film mediums.

I’m a very easy going person with the ability to get along with just about anyone.  I believe that mutual respect is the cornerstone to a successful shoot.

I am always looking to expand my folio and therefore always willing to try something different and certainly not afraid to experiment with ideas, whether they be mine, yours or a collaborative idea.  If you have an idea, let’s talk about it and I’ll do the same.

I'm always prepared to consider TFP, but please be aware that TFP work is very rare and normally reserved for my personal projects, if we have discussed an unusual concept that appeals to me or if you have a look that I'd like to add to my folio.

Just some things upfront:

*  I very rarely pay models - I work on a regular basis with a number of very
    experienced and "Paid Only/Professional Models" who are more than happy to
    collaborate in exchange for images from our shoots;

*  I will give an indication of my rates or if it's something I may collaborate on
    (occasional TF ) early in our initial interactions.  I'm not a fan of the increasing
    trend where "my rates" are suddenly introduced into the conversation at an
    advanced stage;

*  Models will be required to sign a Model Release - this is not negotiable;

*  Proof of age (photo ID) will be required at the commencement of a shoot;

*  I have no issues with a friend accompanying you to a shoot, but please no
    disruptive persons or anyone who will be a distraction for you at the shoot;

*  I generally do not work with models under the age of 18, however, if you are
    under 18 and we do work together, it is a non-negotiable that one of your
    parents or legal guardian must be present at all times during the shoot and
    they must be prepared to sign a Model Release on your behalf;

*  I value communication & view it as an essential part of this process.  If you
    can't be bothered to check and reply to your messages/emails in a
    reasonable timeframe or expect me to initiate all contact/constantly follow
    you up, then the likelihood is we will not work together.

*  On the subject of communication, unsolicited approaches quoting rates in the
    opening message of a conversation are a red-flag to me.  Such types of
    correspondence will be responded to at my sole discretion, but please note that
    there is a high likelihood that these messages will not be responded to.

    Whilst I appreciate people been upfront there is a time for rates to be discussed
    and in my opinion this is not in the very first message of a conversation.

    I'm much more about the art than the monetary side of the industry.

*  We all lead busy lifestyles these days, so it is important that we all respect
    each other’s time.  I don't like wasting other people's time and believe that
    it is fair to expect this in return.  I do realise that things do happen, but to
    simply not show up is inexcusable.  It only takes a couple of minutes to let
    someone know well in advance if you are not able to make a scheduled shoot
    or are running late. I always ensure that people have my mobile number as a
    way to get in contact with me should something unexpected come up;

*  I value professionalism very highly and I'm only too happy to discuss shoots
    and/or ideas with like-minded models, make-up artists, stylists, designers
    and other interested parties.  Let's collaborate and create some art together.

*  Simple things like being prepared, being on time and giving your best on the
    day go a long way with me.

*  If you're looking for a "photographer" who will take 1,000 plus shots in a session
    and produce somewhere between 50-100 shots, then I am not the photographer
    for you.  My style is more "posed shots" with a view to capturing the shot in a
    controlled manner.  I am definitely not a "gunner" - someone who needs to keep
    the shutter chattering away and hope there's a good shot somewhere in the
    series at the end of the set/session. For me it's all about quality over quantity.

*  My preference is for studio work at the present time.

No time wasters please.

Send me a message here and we can take things from there.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

UPDATES:

As of early 2020, I have recommenced shooting on a strictly limited basis as part of my rehabilitation programme following a serious fall in 2017.  Please feel free to hit me up if you'd like to work together, but just be aware sessions will be limited in numbers and will be restricted to studio shoots only (it's too difficult for me to carry gear to locations).

While I'm seeking predominately paid shoots, I am also looking to expand particular areas of my folio, so I may just say yes to a collaboration (TF arrangement) if you're keen to shoot a genre that I want to expand on, have an unusual idea or have a look that I want to add to my folio etc.  If we don't chat, we'll never know.
