I'm a retired MD (radiologist) who has enjoyed photography for more than 50 years, shooting film and digital in all formats up to 4x5 sheet film.

I'm using the  Black Magic 6K Pro and 6K, Panasonic GH6, GH5 and GH5s for 4K -5.7K video and stills, have extensive experience with Canon and Nikon DSLR's.

I began in photojournalism and also have experience with portraits, wildlife, adventure sports such as rock climbing and mountaineering, scientific/ macro and shot the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2010, my second Olympic Winter Games shoot in Vancouver was yet another transformative experience.

I have made several video documentaries since 2010, including one on Chinese painting shot in July 2011 based in Jinan, China.My adventure sports documentaries include THE RIDDLE OF MONZONITE (2012) about the demographics of rock climbing in Joshua Tree National Park, CA and ETERNAL GRANITE (2013), about backpacking and mountaineering in the Sierra Nevada. I have material in the can on the Zeitgeist Movement. I also do music videos, such as participating on SPEED DEMON (2018) with director Nikil Narayan.
Currently I work with my DJI Mavic 2 pro 4K drone to create aerial stills and video.

I have also covered the historic Occupy LA movement in downtown, including assignment for GoodJobsLA.org and the southern CA San Gabriel Valley chapter of Organizing for Action-President Obama's nonpartisan offshoot of his campaign.

For early 2017, we are starting a documentary project exploring the rising protests against the incoming Trump[ administration in southern California. I am providing media for EndHomelessnessNow LA to try to mitigate the crisis affecting southern CA with people being unhoused and attacked from various fronts.


My interest in working with models has grown and I give paid assignments priority , although I will do TF* depending on arrangements with a particular model.

I 'm very interested in alternative and experimental photography such as multiple exposure, image overlay, and special B/W techniques.  If you are looking for a model or acting video reel, music video, or interview format please contact me.
