Ashley Bettencourt is a freelance designer and artist known for creating intricate designs yet still making it high fashion. Born in 1986 in Boston, but raised in Portugal. When she was in 8th grade she realized she wanted to become a designer, and change the way people think about fashion. From then on she took elective classes that focused on art and fashion illustration, so that she could be more efficient in depicting her vision in her sketches. She then graduated and enrolled at Mount Ida College. She realized in sophomore year her passion for costume designing. Costume designing allows Ashley to have endless inspirations in the garments, which is Ashley's passion for detail. Her main goal with what she creates is to change people's way of thinking about fashion, she wants to make people think outside of the box and not so closed minded as to what fashion should be.
