Born and raised in Washington DC, Crystal Maria's early ambition to become a professional makeup artist began while transforming friends and family, it was clear that she was gifted. 
Shortly after she developed a strong  technique that is both intuitive and precise,  Crystal Maria has concentrated much of her efforts on fashion and beauty photography from the very beginning.
In her eyes, beauty is all about lightness, purity and, paradoxically, mastering the artificial.  It is this keen sensibility allied with a great sense of image that enables her to work with remarkable photographers. 
Crystal Maria takes her inspiration from the passion she sees in people's faces, as well as playing with colour. She is also influenced by film, painting, photography, fashion, people and nature, and has developed her own unique style that is edgy at the same time as being classically beautiful. 
Her down to earth demeanor, astute level of aestheticism and understanding of the creative process, make her a vital component to a successful shoot.

Though I love the ART of make-up and the process of "A photoshoot" I am only able to do extremely selective TESTING with agency models at this time ... I love the "IDEA" of constantly filtering in new and improved work.  I use each shoot as a vehicle to challenge and push myself a bit further.  As well, I get the opportunity to meet and establish relationships with talented artist!
