Carlos Carter began his designing career in 1998, where he was inspired to design after much consideration of the working class wardrobe. He noticed that the average working man and woman were confined to a conservative wardrobe, which limited their creative expression. As he began to work with models and other designers across New York City, Carlos developed an avid interest in photography.

Through his work, Carlos seeks to educate people about the risks associated with risky sexual behavior. His inspiration came from witnessing potentially unsafe behaviors that puts his friends and community members at risk. Carlos’ photography, like many visual art forms, serves as a means to both inspire and educate those around him.

His latest endeavor is hosting a talk show, Truth Talk, on Brooklyn Cable Access Television, a platform he uses to inform residents of Brooklyn about key health and social issues.

Carlos’ key mission is to: “Educate the world one person at time by infecting them with the truth.”
