In November of 1999, Derek Johnson decided to become a hairstylist. Unaware of what was in store for him he went into training under the top hairstylist in Ohio, who were Vivian Keetion and Sherry Mclain. From their training he learned to create and manipulate current hairstyles and produce new hair trends.

After mastering his craft, he decided to move to Atlanta to pursue a freelance career while furthering his education and training. Within his first year there he met with Deedy Wales who exposed him to a different world of hairstyling instead of attempting to accomplish that feat behind a salon chair. While being in Atlanta for only a short period of time his accomplishments have included several music videos, photo shoots and runway shows.  He has been a featured hairstylist on the cover of national publications, an image consultant to upcoming artists, and a national platform artist for a major hair care distributors.

This is only the beginning for Derek as he proceeds to grow in the industry while maintaining  personal and celebrity clientele. He has been told that he is the best kept secret in Atlanta. Through the grace of God, Derek has been able to share his talent with Atlanta but pretty soon with the assistance of an awesome support staff, family and friends he will radiate his greatest potential to the world.
