Swimming is in Teresa Cheung’s blood, as her mother was a swimming coach for the Chinese National Team. She started swimming at age 2, and became a member of the China National Swimming Team at age 13. Along the way, Teresa held national records and champion titles as a Chinese National Elite-Level Swimmer, including the 50 and 100 meter breaststroke youth age group and combined style national champion titles for three consecutive years. Since immigrating to the United States in 2005 as an individual with extraordinary ability or achievement in athletics, she has coached over 300 talented students who have achieved outstanding results in competition across the country.
Teresa has participated in many beauty pageants, holding various awards, titles, and top place finishes along the way. Notable appearances include TVB International Miss Chinese International Pageant World Finals 2009, National Graphic Model Competition 2009 (first place finish), and Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant 2009 USA (Best Posture Award).
Coinciding with her extraordinary swimming career, Teresa has been working as a fashion model based in New York City since 2008, featured in numerous publications and walked the runway for many world renowned designers. A highlight of her published covers and feature stores includes Elite NYC Lifestyle Magazine, EPN Spotlight Magazine, Billie Blunt Magazine, World Journal, My Auto Life Magazine, Joli En Style Magazine, and Entrigue Magazine. Her appearances on New York Fashion Week runways includes Cliq International Fashion Show, ASC Fashion Week New York, Couture Fashion Week New York, and hiTechMODA Fashion show.
Utilizing her beauty and charisma, Teresa expanded her professional portfolio to marketing and endorsements. Noteworthy campaigns include Product Advertising Model for Aquage Hair Care, Brand Ambassador, headlined website and catalogue model for Jinny Lee – JL Designs, Swimming Equipment Brand Ambassador for Eddies Sports USA, Brand Ambassador for Essere Vegano New York – “Women’s Vegan Clothing Brand”, Spokesperson for EC Cellars, and performed in television commercials for various cosmetic brand and haircare products.
In recent years, Teresa has developed her talents further and grown her career into motion pictures and event hosting. To date, she has earned credits in two films and hosted large social events on behalf of the International Police & Veterans Foundation, the 1st Chinese American Sports Game Aerobics Competition, and the 2021 Miss Asian Pageant in UN. On top of all her accomplishments, Teresa became model coach in 2020 training kids for fashion shows.
