About Me

Freikorperkulture is an anonymously run, volunteer-powered project to help advance empathy, understanding, and equality between the sexes. We design role reversals that try to make for better mutual understanding! Most Americans spend their whole lives consuming images of professional models, and while most women experience the male gaze, most men seldom if ever experience being objects of scrutiny themselves.

Might the vulnerability of appearing before the camera be empathy building for non-model men? Might female models have interest or get insight from being behind the camera for once, taking photographs of men with the chance afterward to ask them questions about the experience? This project is new but aims to find out, perhaps with your help.
