About Me

I'm a photographer in Atlanta. I work locally  and in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I earned a degree in photojournalism at San Jose State University, and I've been a full-time photographer since 2015. I explore a variety of genres from documentary, abstract and still-life to portraiture. I'm here at Model Mayhem to enhance my portraiture work.

I've been doing studio work for the past couple of years, most recently with a reintrepertation of the 1926 Man Ray photograph called Noire et Blanche. I created Noire et Noire collaborating with another artist. Noire et Noire is on my website.

Volunteerism is an important element of my art practice. In 2016 I founded CameraAngels, a donation program that solicits used cameras and related gear for young people. In addition, until January 2024 I was on the boards of directors of SF Camerawork and the Bay Area Photographers Collective.

I frequently look to a quote by the photographer Gordon Parks for inspiration. Parks said,  “You know, the camera is not meant just to show misery. You can show things that you like about the universe, things that you hate about the universe. It's capable of doing both.”

My work is varied and my website is a good place to see what I do.
