My name is Simón DeLuna (pronounced Simone). I have been doing photography for as long as I can remember. Although it was merely a hobby in the beginning it wasn’t until I went to art school that I realized how passionate I was about it. Once I graduated I did freelance and even worked for more seasoned photographers to help get my feet wet in the industry. Unfortunately I came to a point where I hit a creative wall and I took a hiatus from photography and art altogether.

I moved to Brooklyn for a time and continued to do a little freelance on the side to help me pay the rent. I worked as a bartender and took pictures for myself when I felt a spark of inspiration. However I didn’t take my work seriously and instead put my focus on immersing in artistic culture and stripping away everything I thought I knew about myself and art. I rediscovered who I was and realized what I really wanted to say with my work. I also came to the conclusion that doing freelance was not for me.

You always hear the story of the starving artist and that’s usually a deterrent for people to pursue this lifestyle. However I’m no longer afraid of failure and know now that art for the sake of art is valid in itself. There’s a lot that I want to do with my work, but I need the right models to help me. My main goal right now is to rebuild my portfolio so that it best represents what I’m trying to convey. If I can help other artists along the way then that would be golden.

For those who are wondering, what inspires me creatively is horror, witchcraft, fashion, mythology, and erotica. I am open to creating all types of work and enjoy being behind the camera for whatever projects come my way.
