I'm a multimedia artist with an MFA in painting from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

I'm currently starting a body of work that conflates images of the human form as depicted in nude selfies (and sexting culture in general) with aerial landscapes and images of the earth in its current state, altered by human activity.

I'm using nudes of myself to represent the male form, but I'm looking for an ethical source of images of the female body. I want these pictures to be self-shot (i.e., taken by the model herself on a phone, for example). I am not interested in professional nudes or explicit poses.

I have a particular interest in models with short hair and in prone poses depicting the back and butt, but any length of hair in any pose is great--I don't want to micromanage the process. The model can decide if she wants to show her face. Partially clothed is also fine. In essence, this is an opportunity for self-expression (for the model to represent herself as she wants).

My process involves using an inkjet printer to layer multiple images on a single piece of photo paper. I superimpose images in this way until a pigment surface has been built up. I think of each image I print as a single "brushstroke." The finished work is composed of many such strokes and ideally exists somewhere between abstraction and figuration. (I sometimes print on the back, "non-print" side of photo paper to achieve a painterly effect.)

In much of the work, patterns of landscape, vegetation, etc. and the natural human form overlap and meld into each other. The model might have to look very closely to see herself in the final product. I will pay a flat fee per image or set of images and will work out the details with each model.

The uploaded pics of the work are purposely rough, but give a fair impression of what I'm up to.
