I'm don't need to shoot to add to my portfolio. I need to shoot to to feed my creativity.

At present I'm looking to work with select models who like my work enough to ba a part of it. If I reached out to you and your profile  said "paid assignments only," take a moment with my portfolio. In my experience most people will make exceptions if they really want to work with me. I know this won't be all of you. Just know I respect your right to have a change of heart if you would like to work with me. I won't tell anyone.

I first joined in 2005 as Under The Gun, I deleted my account when I began shooting for glossy magazines. Now I'm back to finish some projects I left hanging.

I'm a working full time editorial photographer and have been for the past 15 year. I have a MA in photojournalism; I teach often, and have judged contests for the past decade. Published in books and magazines and won a lot of awards. Just some facts for context; I'm really low key but its relevant so I mention it.

I do shoot nudes, but I don't JUST shoot nudes. It's probably 1-2% of what I shoot actually. I don't require it if it's not your thing. My model's comfort is important to me. MM just happens to be about the only place to find nude art models without sending a lot of really random and creepy instagram messages. Nobody needs that, lol. Since I don't typically have trouble finding non-nude models, that is primarily what I'm looking for here.

I've heard repeatedly from models that shoot nude that they wish they had more high quality non-nude images in their port. For that reason, any concept we shoot nude, I'm glad to also shoot clothed so you won't just leave with more nudes. Believe me I understand. I appreciate all of those who have worked with me and it's just a way I can show that understanding and appreciation for the willing to collaborate with me.

I'm open to creative input on collaborations. I want my models to enjoy the process and be excited about what we produce together.  If you want to add some great images to your portfolio and you enjoy out of the box creativity, message me and let's see about shooting.

Okay, here's pretty much the way I work.

I will either travel to you or cover your travel expense to get to me. I'll welcome your creative input and try to create concepts around things that excite you. If there is expense related to the shoot, wardrobe or whatever, I will cover whatever we need. I won't rush you but will respect your time. The longer I have to work, the better my work is, so let's be clear and plan accordingly. I require a signed release but will share images with you in a very timely manner that you will be able to use for whatever you want. Your portfolio, your Only Fans, your Christmas cards. Whatever you want, I dont care one bit.


*** Projects and concepts I would like to shoot | Male or Female ***

- Non Traditional Fashion: Clothes made of stuff that isn't clothing. I'll be playing with this concept as a series with several models and concepts. Probably implied at most on this one.

- Ballet: focused on freezing motion while conveying motion. This would be a nude shoot but shooting mor for implied results.

- White Trash Beautiful: Think trailers, kiddie pools and the like. I want the look juxtaposed with a model whose look clearly feels out of place. I'm not trying to propagate a stereotype, but to play with it as a visual aesthetic. I'll shoot this as a series, so there will be non nude, implied, and partial nudity in the series, but not every model need shoot everything. Just want a mix in the end.

- Projection series: Using video projection to light paint, your body becomes the canvas. See the skeleton in my port as an example.  Yeah, you gotta be nakey for this to work, but it comes out very obscured. More implied, but yours standing there skin in the wind during the shoot for sure.

- Fun with Food: They always told us not to play with our food. This series will be just the opposite. I'll work with each participant to come up with each shoot's concept.

- Sub-culture Portraits: This could be pretty much anybody that isn't "mainstream." Some examples I have shot would be Cosplay, Drift Racers, Midget Wrestlers, Roller Derby, Tattooed / Pierced, Rockabilly, Drag Queens, Fetishist, Naturalist, fire dancers, club kids, performance artists,  the list goes on. If you are into something that isn't mainstream, I'm all about capturing it.

- Digital Polaroids: Pretty much just what it sounds like. I've been playing with it on other shoots with great results.

- The World's a Playground: This is a run, jump, climb, and play naked project. I need a good variety of models and environments for this one.

- Bodyscapes: I have a ton, need a ton more. This is the coffee table book that never seems to get finished. Maybe a gallery show is a more reasonable short term goal for this one. Several have hung in galleries so far.

- Masks: Plenty examples from this project in my port. Mostly nakey, but you know ... with a mask on. This has been a fun project and lends itself to some fabulously interesting shots.

- Helmut Newton inspired noir: Google him if you don't know who he is, this has been an awesome project so far. His work all forms of dress and undress. I'm also working on a tribute to his Big Nude series as seen in his book Sumo. I've shot a couple of these, they are full nude, and require a certain body type.

- Light Tricks: All of the funky light effects, and even the images that look at first to be double exposures in my port, are all actually single exposures with some creative light play. There's lots more I want to explore with some of theses techniques and tricks. Very cool stuff.

- Naked Sports: Basketball, soccer, tennis, roller skating, skateboarding, golf, whatever. The trickiest part of this will be finding suitable locations to work. I don't know a lot of basketball courts that permit nudity, lol. If you have a sport or want to pretend, and can help with suitable local locations to shoot, this will be a great series.

FULL TIME TRAVELING MODELS:
It's an interesting and fascinating life you've chosen. Exciting, weird, wild, and unfortunately sometimes  a little uncomfortable if not downright scary. At the very least it's super interesting. For a decade now I have been kicking around the idea of a documentary film project about the subculture of the professional traveling nude model. It's time for the rubber to hit the road, quite literally. It will mean having a camera in your face pretty much 24/7 for probably about a week. The idea being to focus more on the travel and personalities than the actual shoots. So there will need to be a good bit of schedule planning. It would work best during a photo tour you are making. I am looking for several models to feature, men and women, from different parts of the country. The plan is to begin production this fall if if at all possible. This may or may not be your thing.
