I first got into figure drawing through working as an art model in grad school. I was so intrigued by how a room full of people could all be seeing the same object, and yet be able to express and communicate their perceptions in innumerable ways. It was destabilizing in my own negative self-image; if I was perceived so differently by everyone and their perceptions were just as valid as my own, then why did I hold on to my own as reality? From there I decided to learn how to communicate my experience in seeing the human form, hoping to bring joy and perhaps healing to those who do not see their divine nature when faced with a mirror.

Since 2015, I've been growing and ever-learning in my art. While I have quite a bit of experience drawing from life, I prefer doing more finished work, so I usually work from photo references I have taken (another artistic adventure in of itself; see: shotsbyray #4792234)
