I’ve always wanted to be a model, but my AvPD squashed that idea before it even fully formed. I’m also very petite, and fell hard for tattoos and piercings early in life. In my head, models had to be at least 5’7” with big boobs and voluptuous hips with tanned, ink-free skin. I assumed that I’d never be taken seriously even if I DID get the courage to try. Then, body mods started becoming more accepted! And my desire to follow my passion was rekindled.
With the uprise of body positivity, our society is becoming more inclusive and open-minded about what makes a “good/beautiful/impactful” photo. Everyone is beautiful, everyone has stories to tell. I’d love to be one of the voices telling other young girls like me with self-esteem issues that they are, in fact, perfect just the way they are.
