About Me

** Fully Vaccinated** Published Photographer

So many people ask me on photo shoots “Why did I become a photographer?” The funny thing is I never really thought I would be one. But it’s kinda funny because photography has always been a part of my life. When I was younger I had gotten a camera for Christmas. It wasn't anything special by any means, was just a little point-and-shoot camera.
I had a lot of fun with it. I would take pictures of parades and family events. Every time I turned the camera on it was new and exciting for me.
In high school, I was working at Kmart. I started out by folding clothes, and then worked my way up and landed a position in the electronics department. One of my job responsibilities in this position was to develop photos in the 1 Hr photo department. So I started learning about the entire process of developing film, the old school way. Kmart is where I picked up my first digital camera. It was an HP camera I had gotten for a discounted price. It was interesting, at the start I took a lot of photos, but after a while it got old and I just stopped taking photos.
Fast forward to 2012, I had a baby on the way and wanted to get great photos for when she was born. I picked up my first DSLR camera, a Cannon Rebel T5. I had it and took a few photos and was too frustrated with it and decided to sell it. (What a mistake that was on my part!) I didn’t understand exposure or what ISO or shutter speed was. I was used to the simple point-and-shoot. So I did what I thought was best and gave up.
It wasn’t until the end of 2017 that photography was introduced back into my life. I had gone through a bad breakup and was going into a deep depression. I had felt as though i had lost everything I had. Randomly, I had someone offer me a Nikon D7000 camera at a really cheap price. So I took it hoping it would get me out of my depression and allow me to show the world what I was feeling on the inside. Ironically, the world showed me what it had to offer me instead!
The first lens I had with my camera was a Sigma 70-200mm lens with a macro setting. I could stand far away and get incredible pictures as if i was standing right there. From this point, it had made complete sense to me to explore the great outdoors. Since then I have added a few more lenses to my collection and I have been learning so much from other photographers and online.
Photography is a part of my life and I feel blessed to have found this path. I feel as though pictures can capture so much and be so meaningful. Let me help you document your story through all of the stages, precious moments, and milestones of your life.
