About Me

I am a very experienced photographer with several decades of experience working with film before slowly transitioning to digital 20+ years ago.  My primary source of income was as an electronics engineer, a career that I retired from a few years ago.  Since then I have been focusing my energy on developing a brand-building photography business.

Prior to retiring I did a lot of weddings and event photography as a part time contractor.  I was also published in several motorcycle themed magazines.  These days my interests are in building a business that provides SpokesModel stills for print advertising.  I still spend a fair amount of time doing event and street photography.

In the past, all of the professional models I've worked with were procured through modeling agencies.  I joined MM in the hopes of finding bright, eager, energetic somewhat experienced amateur models to help build a product photography portfolio to attract advertising clients.  It's been a mixed bag of results so far.  Many here are not at all serious about modeling as a career and don't seem especially motivated to hone their craft.  The flake to pro ratio seems to be about 50:50.  I suppose the same might be said for the pool of photographers here.

So with that groundwork established, I am always interested in hearing from inexperienced/semi-experienced, photogenic "girl next door" type female models for G-rated street photography and travel location shoots.  If you are looking for someone who can help you win a few POTD awards or just want to punch up your own portfolio perhaps I can help.

When I first signed on to MM I though that it was disrespectful for photographers to only work with models on a TF basis.  Models invest a lot of time preparing for a shoot and I have always felt that they should be compensated regardless of their level of experience.  After realizing just how Craigslist-like MM is, I now understand why photographers do this.

If you don't have recent, professionally done images in your portfolio and several recent recommendations by professional photographers I will most likely only be offering TF in exchange for my time and skill.

If you happen to be one of those rare models who wants to make this a career: I am all about collaborations to create memorable images.  If you have something insightful to add that will turn an average shoot into an incredible story, I'd love to hear from you.  If all you have the energy for is standing around smiling at the camera I'm sure you can find other photographers who will be happy to hand you dollars.

I prefer wholesome looking, professional deportment models seeking to build a portfolio or experiment with new looks.  I am neutral on ink so long as you don't look like a circus sideshow. If your face can't get through the airport metal detectors you've probably gone too far with the piercings.  I am open to all [legal] ages, races, shapes and so on.

I travel around the USA a lot so I'm always interested in hearing from out-of-town models for a local shoot in their area.  And of course models home based in/near PDX for repeat work.

I welcome inquiries from *SERIOUS* models anywhere in the PNW who are committed to developing their craft.  Anyone guaranteeing that they can get you published is probably full of it and I make no such claims.  However, my business is focused on attracting advertising clients, not magazine publisher centerfolds.  Having your layout featured in my portfolio is no guarantee of future paying work but it certainly can't hurt.  It only takes one client to turn a hobby/sideline into a gold mine.  Think Flo, the SpokesModel for Progressive.  You could be her.

I always have several projects in the works.  If you'd like to be part of them or if you just need to punch up your portfolio I welcome you to friend me and drop me a note.

Happy to do occasional layouts for your "ForFansOnly" web site but only on a TF basis.

Note to retouchers:  If I ever find the need to want to hire one (which is extremely unlikely), I will do so.  Otherwise, do not message me.  I have become weary of retoucher spamers!
