It started when I was very young, this interest in nature; looking back at my childhood. Surely, it was quite different from many designers I have met; most people in fact. I grew up in extreme polarities of the spectrum, the intermittent metropolitan life and the natural holistic life where I lived near the outskirts of the rain forest. In the city the approach in the natural was perceived as superstitious, and in the simple village simply natural was a way to appreciate what nature has to offer.

My interest were always seemingly from the other realm, always daydreaming and meeting crafts people, so I delved into learning the traditions of medicine men, and everything that is created by our own hands, stones and sacred energy when creating something, watching seeds grow and learning the fruits of hard work.

I would take this knowledge and really discover that outside that slow gentle world that it has a different reception so I kept the knowledge to myself. Although within a city’s perspective my curiosity of why some of my knowledge was viewed as magic, eager to know why, I expanded my vocabulary of such beliefs in magical and the holistic, such as ancient amulets, charms, mystics, healing and purported stone alchemy. All of which somewhat related to a lot of what I knew as a young kid, it was always rooted to our natural world, very encouraging, too see things grow into something majestic.

This is why I started designing jewelry, inspired by genuine crafts people; because I see many products out there are not authentic and are actually creating chaotic energies to the person who is wearing mass produced jewelry. My approach are ancient knowledge and from folk tradition that has been passed down by many natural holistic energy healers who are now gone. Gemstones are supposed to be used properly, they are symbolic and holds a lot of meanings to many societies, a touch of magic and fashion, we could continue this tradition. It is a rare gift I would like to share with you.
