About Me

Thanks for taking the time to learn a little about me and view my portfolio.

Starting out as a self-taught photographer using film, I shot on and off for many years and now I am finishing the work to get my Photography Master Certificate from Montgomery College, which I expect to receive in the Spring of 2020. Moving from film to digital, getting formal instruction in photography, sharpening my craft and having shot in all kinds of genres, my photographic journey is still continuing.

Primarily I work in the studio but am comfortable working on location. Incorporating motion and creative color in my work when it makes artistic sense makes me happy. Among other things, I want to continue to build a portfolio with models that will be the basis for future commercial work.

Great photographs are usually a planned collaboration between several actors; the photographer, the model, a MUA/ hairstylist and perhaps a designer or art director. As each person adds their unique skills and abilities to the effort, the final product will be greater than any of the parts.

I like working with new and aspiring models and MUAs, because they often add a fresh eye and perspective on a project, and as they become better at their chosen craft, I become a better photographer. I am generally easy going, but passionate when I get behind a view finder. I try to work at a high professional level, and I expect the same from those I work with. Drama has a place on TV and the movies, but not on my shoots

I expect people to show up on time and ready to work, just as I will be. I will ask models to sign a model release that will detail copyright ownership, any image use restrictions, our agreed upon fees and any expense reimbursements, and for a TFP/TFCD shoot, the number of edited images that will be provided and when you should expect to receive them. I will provide a copy of the release for your review prior to the shoot. I do not release un-edited images.

My rates, just like almost everything in life, are negotiable. Feel free to message me with any questions or ideas for great photographs you might have that we could shoot together. Looking forward to working with you.
