I'm Mike. I've been a photographer since 1984.

Between 1984 and now, I have been a professional wedding and portrait photographer (for five years), a professional aerial photographer, an 'events' photographer, an amateur landscape photographer as well as embarking upon (but never finishing) an 'environmental nudes' project.

Now, at the age of 57, I am simply a passionate 'hobbyist', who mostly takes photographs of the beautiful ladies and wonderful characters on the UK's vintage / retro / 1940s scenes.

As this style of photography lends itself well to photographing aspiring models, I thought I'd give this site a try, in the hope some of the less experienced models out there might wish to expand their portfolios.

What is in it for you?

Well, I'm willing to shoot for free, and travel for free, as well as spending my time in 'post production' for free. Of course, all of the images taken that are deemed 'usable' will be provided to you as digital files, to use in any way you wish.

I'm more than happy for you to have a chaperone, and I'm quite happy doing close up facial portraits or fully clothed full figure without any suggestion of nudity!

I'm also a listener! I don't just listen to people's ideas, I genuinely love hearing them, and will work with the model to achieve her vision of what SHE wants, within the limitations of my own style.

All I ask is that you live either in Norfolk, or one of the surrounding counties.

What is in it for me?

Well, at 57, I'm not looking to embark upon a career as a fashion photographer! As such, I'm not really looking to produce a portfolio of images that take me in a certain direction. Consequently, there is no pressure, conflict of interest or stress, and you know something? I kinda like that!

Naturally, I want to take the best photographs I can. Getting images that exceed my own expectations is a buzz, and if the subject is delighted with the outcome too, well that's just photographers nirvana for me! That buzz lasts a few days, and then I need to do it all over again.

What am I looking for?

Well, as someone who is more comfortable working in natural light, I'd ideally like to work with someone who is looking to add some outdoor location shots, or naturally lit interiors to their portfolio. As a lover of the vintage look, someone who shares that passion and has a degree of expertise in doing their own hair and makeup would be a great match!

The photographs I have on my page are 'grab shots' taken at 1940s events. The girls aren't models, nor are they particularly posed, but hopefully, they will give you an idea as to my style of photography.
