About Me
Soooo.... Hello!!!
About me I'm known these days photography-wise as KOLOMO (a bit like Prince, a man that has gone through several creative incarnations). I've been at this thing called 'photography' officially for about 11 years.. A semi-retired landscape photographer, I used to primarily work in fields and on location taking pictures, as I love planet Earth and everything in it. I went landscape professional after a close shave with a train about 7 years ago (not the trains fault I tried to jump in front of it), and as part of my recovery, used photography as a medium to express myself, and to capture the things that I would miss. Availability Availability can be patchy depending on a number of factors: commissioned work, ad-hoc work, child care and contract work. During the autumn and spring, I tend to shoot less because commissioned work (being semi-retired means that they won't leave you alone, and expect cheaper rates!). Photography crushes As a landscape photographer, I was influenced heavily by wildlife programmes and David Attenborough. But I'm big on Ole Henrik Skjelstad and Lars Van der Goor. On here I'm a fan of Kris Karl's intense portraiture, Dekker's versatility, and Jon Downs general awesomeness. What I shoot I'll shoot most genres if I have an idea, and have experience of all genres from clothed to adult, so please approach me if you shoot clothed. Occasionally I'll throw in a landscape if the mood takes me. I shoot maybe 4 to 5 times a year on average for my own portfolio. I use MUA's on occasion, but don't have a regular partner in crime so feel free to hit me up. What else? Happy to do TFP if a good idea, or if anybody wishes tutoring around landscape photography, happy to share some knowledge (model or photographer). Feel free to hit me up if you have any ideas. I have my own studio lights and speedlites for outside. Also do location and studio work. Happy to work with all, as long as I have a concept or an idea that I think will show you in the beauty that all you wonderful people deserve. Messages.... Apologies in advance if I don't reply immediately. My reply rate as you can see is a bit tardy.. but not out of any malicious intent. I have a small baby who I also look after in-between work, so sometimes replying just slips my mind (part of depression I'm afraid). I'm Ok with being prompted for a reminder. Best time to message me is when the bairn is asleep after 730pm, as I normally see them then. I'm fairly impulsive, so a lot of my ideas are formed over the long term, but I may message you at short notice if your look gives me an idea. I like to strike whilst the iron is hot, so to speak. Feel free to reciprocate. Hope to hear from you all soon.
