I’ve spend most of my life, creating computer generated images and trying to get close to reality or use it to break the rules. In order to be successful it requires a lot of reference material and that’s what made me take photography as a hobby. Soon after, my close friends that have seen some of the photos encouraged me to pay attention on other aspects such as composition, lighting and in particular think about what’s the emotion that photo represents by itself and not just as a reference for another process.
With this in mind and with time my photos turned from reference photos to photos that represent an emotion, whatever it’s mine, the models or the viewer. I’ve started with landscapes since they are the more accessible in my opinion, then move to events, mostly behind the scenes type, I like to capture the people and their emotions before the main event because that’s true and genuine. For me the next challenge, and I believe it will be a perpetual one, was how to capture those genuine emotions in an art directed environment,, and I’m looking forward to work with you all the talented people at MM.
I have a particular soft spot for black and white photography because I think it leaves room for imagination and it gives the most creative freedom.
