My name is Joao Poeira (but all my foreign friends call me John) and I was born in a small coastal town in northern Portugal not far from Porto.

I have a MEng in Textile engineering and a PgD in 6 Sigma-Black Belt level, and although I have more than 15 years work experience on those areas, Photography as been always a passion of mine. It’s been present since a young age and it’s been growing as a very serious hobby until a couple of years ago me and my partner turned it into a business (2nd job in Portugal).

All I know about photography, I learned through lots of reading and the contact with colleagues and more experienced friends, who had the patience to guide me, not only about how to get good photos, but also about how to be a professional in every sense of the word.

Having recently moved into UK, I’m trying to go back into this passion.
I’m looking forward to use my keen eye and all that I have learned to register much more than just new moments, but to register new feelings, emotions and sensations.
