I started taking pictures before I was 10, and that was more than 50 years ago. My dad built a darkroom in the basement for me to use. I earned a photo degree from Rochester Institute of Technology, but my career ended up going in other directions. Photography is just a hobby for me these days.

I wanted to be the next Mapplethorpe when I was in college, or at least take pictures for Playgirl magazine, but alas, it was not meant to be. I ended up in arts administration and journalism. At this point, my male nude photography is just something I do from time to time. I enjoy providing models with pictures they can use for their own purposes.

Mostly for the inspiration and to keep a foot in this scene. I don't do a lot of photography anymore but sometimes when I visit other cities, it's nice to look up the models in that city and see if I can set up a shoot with someone.

I'm not into this to make money or spend money. Almost all of my shoots have been TFP.

I'm not a fussy photographer. I like to use natural lighting in natural settings. I did a lot of newspaper photography and you'll see that influence in my work. News photographers take pictures of things the way they are, they don't manipulate the scene. But I still use fill lights and reflectors as needed. I don't like to take the same picture twice. I move around a lot and use different backgrounds. But I also work fast and most shoots are over in an hour or two. Models get the pics within a day or so. I don't give models a lot of direction when shooting, I'd rather they just be themselves and feel comfortable in their posing.
