During my previous life I was a pharmacist and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in Rhode Island. I am also a 2018 RISD Continuing Ed Photography graduate, but recently retired to the lowcountry and desire to be a working photographer, versatile and happy to shoot various kinds of personal and commercial work. In contrast to my previous training I am relatively new to photography and am here to expand my portfolio and gain experience particularly with fashion and portraiture. I have been doing almost exclusively landscapes, travel, and street photography and have shot a handful of folks for their own use. I like photos that emotionally impact the viewer but also capture the personality of the model. I try to use colors and light that compliment the mood of the scene or the model's personality. I also love the challenge of black and white photography that when done well speaks volumes of a photographers' and models' talents. Through ModelMayhem, I am seeking to expand my body of work with practically anything creative, artistic, or that stands out. I love portraiture because I love people; am very easy going, reliable, trustworthy, and respectful. I wish to use ModelMayhem to meet fellow photographers, make connections with models, expand my skills and work with models to provide portraiture we can both proud of. I am working to build a professional home studio in order to maximize and formalize lighting but also enjoy working on outdoor shoots, at historical sites and so forth.
