Although I have done photography for many years (indeed, decades) only in the last five years have I become serious about it. My view of what makes a good photograph is best summed up in the words of a friend of mine, who says: "a photograph should be _about_ something, not just of something." That "aboutness" is what I strive for, sometimes more successfully than others, in my work.

Although I have done photoshoots for friends, particularly in the dance community, most of my work is aleatoric and falls into the "fine arts photo" category; that is, I neither earn nor want to earn my living by shooting people or events as a hired photographer. What I do want to do is make images that satisfy me, and - with luck - appeal to other people as well.

Currently, my major (photographic) interests include landscape, nudes, and dance.
