I first experienced photography while taking pictures with an Instamatic at age 13. By high school I had transitioned to 35mm photography and enjoyed taking pictures of aircraft and trains. I was introduced of the hobby of shooting models while in my early 20s, was quickly accepted by the older photographers who had built the photo-day scene in Southern California beginning in the 1960s, and have remained an ongoing member of the community for over 30 years. While I have continued to embrace photography during the transition to digital imaging and remain an active photographer who has returned to concentrating on aircraft and railroading, I am still interested in maintaining my skills that come with the shooting of models. My hope is to reconnect with other photographers who have also experienced the waning of Southern California photo-days and develop new photography-based relationships as I pursue my hobby into the autumn of my life
