My name is Tobey Toney. I am an Architect by day & Photographer by night. I am a local San Diegan born and raised, having lived basically all over the city from the mountains of Alpine to my current place right on the beach in North Carlsbad. During my 3rd year of college I bought my first DSLR camera and it was not long before it became a pretty focused hobby of mine, going out to shoot whenever I could find a moment of free time, unfortunately with being a full time student and interning at an architecture firm this time was very little. As sort of a graduation present my boss saw my passion for photography and bought me a much newer and upgraded camera. Having a decent camera drastically improved my picture quality and as a result friends and family begun to reach out to get portraits taken. Having only ever shot landscapes I was very hesitant and didn't imagine it was something I would ever do but after that first session I knew it was something I could turn into my style of art and make a portrait more than simply a generic photo but a timeless piece of art.
I currently do photography part time, mostly portraits, product photography & stock images, however I do sell the occasional landscape and fine art photos from various local galleries I have put work in. I would like to start to get into more artistic photos while also building up my portfolio which is why I would like to join the Model Mayhem community and find talented models to help me capture my vision.
