About Me

For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for the visual arts . Throughout my youth I loved creative pursuits including drawing, art courses, and photography. I particularly loved black & white photography and its natural abstraction of reality. Upon completion of high school, I was accepted into the fine arts program at a university in California, but upon reflection, I decided to keep my artistic interests as a hobby and instead completed a degree in the next closest program: electrical engineering at the University of Waterloo. Throughout my working life, I continued to develop my watercolour and photographic skills through self-study efforts and workshops.
My passion in photography involves two diverse photographic interests from a photographic technique viewpoint; making carefully planned concept images and capturing the spontaneous “decisive moment” in photojournalism style photography. I have been asked and done weddings and want to start doing portrait and figure photography as a part time career. I have won photo competitions, sold framed images, and been displayed in galleries.

"I had a truly wonderful shoot with Brian ! I am so appreciative that Brian had come from the island to shoot with me and we were SO LUCKY with the weather ! I am in love with the images we got from looking at the back of the camera, and Brian was so kind to bring towels, chocolate, crisps, water--- basically anything I would need during our shoot, he had thought of, which is amazing when photographers think of these extra details so we as models are as comfortable as can be ! Thank you so much Brian! We then finished the day shooting in my apartment and again, Brian had thought of everything and brought this amazing new light ( seriously I need to get one) and a backdrop !
