Hi! My name is D’vora Stal and I’m currently a student at Aveda Institute in DC. Eventhough I am fairly new to this industry, I am super passionate about it and have many goals. I am an extremely friendly, hardworking, motivated, and easy going person with an eye for fashion and the latest styles. I have always loved doing hair, yet my real passion only began about a year and a half ago, at a small wig salon in my Baltimore neighborhood. I applied for a wig stylist position immediately after high school because I thought it would be a fun oppurtunity, little did I know what I was getting myself into. I was hired to wash and style wigs, and did so for a few months. Once I learnt the business aspects though, I began rising the ranks of the staff. With the start of my fourth month working there, I was handling the books, store supplies, bookings, receptionist duties, customer service, and payments. I eventually became the salon manager and enjoyed that position for a few months. After a while I decided I want to be more hands on in the hair world, and less with the business aspect. I am very creative and pretty talented with my hands and why not show what I have to offer? My boss wasn’t offering me any education, and it was after almost a year of me working there that I decided I want to further my hair education and build a career in the hair fashions/style industry. It was then that I decided to attend Aveda and continue my education, and I am so glad that I did! So far I have met amazing educators and friends who are helping me along and bringing out my skills and talents that I never knew I had! While still in school I decided I would love to focus more on high fashion hair styling, editorial hair, and runway show hair, and this is when I began searching the internet. I did so in hope of finding a connection to help me gain more experience and find various opportunities and Model Mayhem seemed to be just that. I have my eyes on the latest styles and my hands to create it, yet not the experience just yet. What I am looking to gain from Model Mayhem is simply getting my name out and to start building a reputation for myself through meeting talented and hardworking people.
