In short: I make revolutionary queer art.

I was born, raised, came out, got engaged, broke up, found family, lost friends, worked for a software company, got laid off, and worked through myself in Los Angeles. I've resided in Portland, OR since July 2019. But I will always be an Angelenx.

I'm a transfeminine non-binary lesbian; I'm queer; I'm polyamorous; I'm a leftist. My pronouns are she/her/hers and they/them/theirs

All art is political and being queer is political. Queer sex, queer love, and queer friendship are all art.

At the core of my artistic philosophy is the desire to create something deeply new; I would like to establish this new way, my own way of art. This way must transcend the binary of modernism and postmodernism, just as my own gender identity transcends the binary of man and woman. Thus, I take from postmodernism the art of appropriation, and use it to cast a critical view. Art must seek to bring the appropriately private into the public, and vise versa. However, rationality and absolute truth must remain in place; if they do not, the personal narrative is lost to epistemological nothingness, a grey haze of neither truth nor falsehood. Art must understand both its ephemerality and its long-term impression, its birth as a product of nature and a product above nature.

For these reasons I seek to create queer visions of the world. I draw influences from the magical realism of Haruki Murakami, the vibrancy of Akif Hakan Celebi, the flamboyance and authenticity of David Bowie, the love of color and love and loss in themselves of Maggie Nelson, the love of Los Angeles by the art collective Department of Archives and Records, the political surrealism of Maggie West, and the imperfect understanding and people-centered narratives of Anthony Bourdain.
