From my Artist Statement on fineartedtions.net: About art...it just happens sometimes when those in front of the lens firmly connect spirit, body, and the technical side of an image. My opening a shutter allows that expressive outcome to be captured on film and digital, light being my paint and brush. "Twenty Nudes" is a collection of images made on film and now expressed in digital form...some for the first time. They remain a study of the nude in natural light - in its purest form. I am also a curator for a fine arts gallery in Lexington, where I exhibit my work and often collaborate with other artists for "mixed media" images. All black and white images, especially in this portfolio, are from scanned negatives or digitized original gelatin silver photographs.
