About Me

Simone Henry, destined to become ShadeReggae and follow in the footsteps of her dad–– a reggae singer. Little did she know that she was on her way to earn the coveted title of international super model by the age of seventeen in Jamaica. The girls her age, who she thought were her friends at the time, would laugh at her when she told them she wanted to become an international model. Simone recalls that “They said ‘you look like a boy’ and they called me names like Olive, long-gie Lala, and they laughed at me. But I never stopped dreaming”. In 1999 she was officially introduced to the world as the face of one of the most powerful companies in the Caribbean telecommunications industry and the voice of many young girls and boys from all walks of Caribbean life whose dreams were to make a better life for their families. Simone was named the international spokesmodel for Cable&Wireless(LIME) “Digita” singing “Welcome Miss Digita” a jingle accompanied with a rhythmic dance produced by Patrick Waldimire of WaterWorks LTD, and choreographed by L’Antoinette Stines. As “Digita”, Simone appeared on TV, magazines, billboards, radio, and at live events such as the annual Caribbean Carnival across the Caribbean and South America representing the company’s brand. Simone later went on to compete in the Miss Jamaica Fashion Model Pageant held by PULSE Models International, Kingsley Cooper in Kingston, Jamaica, where she placed in the top six (6) —and the rest is history

The brutal truth: Growing up I was teased, laughed at, looked at as a misfit in Jamaica because of my height. 6' tall and skinny. not something that is well accepted in my country. Even with a few opportunities to do some editorial work, I struggled with accepting myself. That is until I realized how much my fears have held me back. So––– here I am, just another face. Even today, everywhere I go people stare at me because I am so tall, asking are you a model? and I would smile and say "no...not anymore" their response... "well you should be" When life throws lemons, make lemonade. Thanks for taking the time to read my very short but true story.

I am available for commercial, editorial, and runway shows, etc.
I am looking to network with industry professionals in an effort to get established as a model. I am excited to hear from you!

I am not interested in assignment that required nudity.

Regards.
