ABOUT MICHAEL

I grew up in England and began shooting with a film camera I received as a child from my father and ever since then photography became a fundamental part of my life. After leaving university I fell victim to the lure of the city. Working my way up I successfully built several businesses from the ground up and sat at the helm of several international conglomerates. I took more than 100 flights each year and the world just buzzed by. Finally, I hit the stop button and gave it all up to return to my true passion for painting with light.

I traded my briefcase and PDA for my cameras and travelled the world this time looking to capture instances in time. A slice of life as it unfolds. People as they express the emotions and feelings which bind us together and make us human ... The hotchpotch of haphazardly choreographed chaos which forms life as it rolls by.

Gradually I gravitated towards High Fashion, Portraiture and Private Portfolio assignments which now form the bulk of the body of my work. However, I am equally comfortable undertaking assignments for editorials or a product showcase. My previous business experience running companies with millions of dollars in advertising and marketing budgets came in handy when undertaking complete end -to-end campaigns for product positioning and re-branding - from creative conceptual design to print / media ready files. I am able to undertake assignments anywhere in the world.

I consider myself lucky to be able to maintain a large fully equipped studio and have the means to pursue my passion and finance substantial personal projects. The most important aspect for me is to retain the fun and joy in the art. I love collaborating with others - designers, models and makeup artists. I am happy to freely collaborate for the sake of bringing ideas to life. I am happy to work with talent or new faces on TFP basis. The main thing is keep the creativity and the fun in focus.
