My name is Adam,

I used to be a professional lost cat poster designer, and before that, I was a professional rock-paper-scissor player in the European circuit. I used to repair disposable cigarette lighters and was a professional pencil sharpener, I specialised in 2B pencils. But then the internet came in and people didn't need professionally sharpened 2B pencils so much. So I wandered down to the sea to throw myself in and what did I spy on that seashore? A camera! I took it as a sign and that is how I became a photographer.

I was asking myself why I like photography. The answer I gave myself went something like this:

I get to create beautiful photos that evoke an emotion. I also get to go to amazing places that I would not go to without the driving force of making great photos. I get to meet amazing people! I have met some gorgeous models who are really nice and normal no matter what people think models are like.

I get to learn a skill that is actually very hard to do well. It is not as simple as pointing a camera at a beautiful girl and say 'smile'. I love to learn new things, and learning the art of photography is something difficult and challenging. I learned when I was young that difficult things are the most rewarding.

It has been amazing gaining knowledge of this world and skill. I have been to crazy places and met some fantastic people. I will get better every shoot and every edit. This is why I take photos.

Every shoot is a different learning experience, the challenge for me is to master all the hidden skills of the photographer that are not just about light and camera settings. Making the model feel comfortable and happy, finding great locations, learning about the different styles of photography: landscape, portrait, sports etc, learning new software. These are all the side tasks of photography that are so interesting.

People say to me 'models are crazy divas. yeah?' and I always reply 'nooooo, they are lovely and down to earth' but it is not true lol. They think they are down to earth but really they are ethereal beings that float about us mere mortals. Men are really nice to models, doors are opened for them, people are especially polite and kind Smile They think this is normal but people don't hold doors open for me....oh no! they slam doors in my face is what they do Smile It's like the queen thinks that everywhere smells of fresh paint and Cillit bang, models think all guys are really polite and helpful Smile But really models are really nice even if they are gorgeous and tall and willowy and smell great.

The best thing about photography is the people, I have met some amazing people who I would have never met and that was great. To meet up and make friends and try to work together to make something cool is really fun.
