I am an artistic, rather than a commercial, photographer, and I sometimes compare myself to Andy Warhol, only in terms of diversity and the fact that I will sometimes prefer a less polished look in order to get the essence of what I am trying to convey.

I prefer to shoot outdoors and with models who are less "slick", whether they are heavily experienced, totally inexperienced, or anywhere in between. I tend toward semi-nudity and nudity in my model shoots, because I find this to be the most human element. If I can photograph a model in some of her own environment, I like to, because doing so demonstrates human diversity and often allows the model to relax and enjoy the shoot, making for a much more collaborative experience.

Collaboration is the best way to work, and I like a model to take initiative and not have to to always be told what to do or to move (inherent in modeling), though if I see something I like or think would work, I expect her to be able to take direction within the flow of whatever she is already doing. I am looking for models with a sense of adventure, especially for shooting outdoors, and who are not shy or judgmental about their bodies, especially in terms of body type. All shapes are welcome.

Daring is good. Bold can be better, but must have a story to tell and not just be boldness for its own sake.
