About Me

Loretta Green is a very creative and highly skilled patternmaker recognized for her sense for style, visual composition, and artistic talent with 20- plus years of experience in the fashion industry. She enjoys making patterns and designing for special occasions.
During Loretta's fashion industry career she has worked with many companies that includes, Bebe, Joie, Guess, and Citizen of Humanity. From this experience, she has gained extensive patternmaking and grading skills through working in manufacturing environments designing patterns to create clothing lines. Loretta demonstrated her ability to work with designers and manufacturers by ensuring that the designer's concepts translate into the actual clothing they desire. Additionally, Loretta exercised her creative talent when she held a position as a Technical designer; the work includes technical specs for domestic and import garments.
Currently, Loretta is working for a denim company, Citizen of Humanity as a Production Patternmaker. In this position, Loretta reflected on her career and felt that she has been blessed to gain so much experience in the fashion industry that she wanted to help newcomers in fashion. In 2008, Loretta decided to share her industry experience with inspiring young fashion professionals of the future by teaching part-time at the Art Institute of California -Hollywood. In this role Loretta demonstrates her ability to work with students by providing industry based knowledge. Loretta, continued to expand her teaching career by developing a three day patternmaking workshop at Santa Monica College -Continuing Community Education on teaching students how to make a pattern by copying a garment that is sew together in January 2009 to 2011. After teaching for two years, Loretta wanted to ensure that she was providing her students with the best; therefore Loretta continued her education and obtained her Master's Degree in Education Leadership in 2010.
For the past 10 years, Loretta has worked for denim companies that specialize in high-end premium denim jeans such as Joie, Guess and Citizen of Humanity. Denim companies are very exclusive and private industries. Everyone wears jeans but not many people understand or know about the whole process of making a denim jean. Therefore, with her extensive denim background, Loretta created and developed a denim class at The Art Institute for students to experience the first- hand knowledge of making a high- end premium denim jean; from the patternmaking, fitting, sewing, and the denim wash process.
In addition to the current industry and teaching experience that Loretta is endeavoring, she is continuing her education in fashion at the Academy of Art University earning a Master's Degree in Fashion 2015. After completing her Master's degree in fashion, Loretta was inspired to pursuit her passion and started working on her own design collections for Summer 2017. This Summer Collection 2017 will be ready to launch in May. LoJean Fashions will be a women's ready to wear online clothing boutique.
