About Me

Hey everyone! I'm a primarily ambient and natural light photographer who loves to run around outside, climbing trees and jumping in ditches to get "that" shot. I've done some studio work, but I find I work best with models who are most at home being outdoors, on location.

I mainly shoot editorial work, urbex work, dance modeling and fitness modeling. I've done some concepts here and there, and am usually pretty interested in new genres. My style tends to focus on shadows and light, with wider angle, environmental shots common (but I still do plenty of close-in work).

Also: in addition to digital photography, I also do film! I'm happy to break out the 35mm, 828, 120 or 4x5 at any shoot. I also do digital video as well as Super 8 movie film.

"I love working with John for photoshoots, he is actually the photographer that got me into doing photoshoots in the first place. He is really fun to work with and so helpful especially with posing, expressions, ideas and he's always up for taking a challenge or challenging the model to try something unique alongside traditional poses. He is also very good at emphasizing what attributes shine on a certain model, whether it is an expression or physique, and I am always thankful for the criticism as well as praise from working at each shoot together!
