Hello, world!

My name is Darja and I'm a photographer from Moscow who is now based in Edinburgh.
I don't put myself in frames and that's why I'm experienced in many genres: landscape, urban, still life, wedding, kids, fashion, even food photography. I have been published in several magazines and I constantly work on developing my style.

Why am I here? Most of all I love creating sensitive, interesting, surreal portraits, fine art and conceptual. RATES

I'm interested in paid work mostly. Feel free to contact me for rates: they are reasonable and they don't bite Smile I don't care if the model is experienced or not, most of the models in my pictures are non-professionals. We will work together on ideas and create something special for you. I usually give all good pics in my artistic color correction and the best ones in detailed retouching. I like my models to feel comfortable during the shoot so I always create an easy-going atmosphere. I'm also understanding and patient and I will do my best to leave good memories not only of the pictures but of the shoot itself!

TF

Right now I feel that my portfolio is already quite big, solid and versatile so I tend to be very picky when it comes to TF. I'm happy to work on a TF basis if you have some awesome ideas, costumes, headpieces, concepts etc. Please don't just message me saying "here I am, shoot me"; explain what it is you offer that can make me be interested in working with you for free. For example: "I have access to an amazing location", "I have this unreal dress and this gorgeous headpiece" or "I have this concept...". Don't get me wrong, I love tf shoots but I've done so many that it really needs to be special now. TF shoots are location only because I just don't like to be locked within 4 studio walls so you should be able to travel to beautiful spots at your own costs (I have my own travel expenses to pay for) and be fit enough to climb hills or walk to the necessary place. Remember that TF means that I'm not the only one working and sorting out the details: be ready to help!

COLLABORATIONS

I'm constantly in search of accessories and clothes designers. Also hair stylists! If you are interested in collaboration with me don't hesitate to let me know. I would love to work with creative minds! We can also work on publishing our pictures, normally it's not hard and a good chance to showcase your work.

TO PHOTOGRAPHERS

I'm often asked about how I shoot and create my images. This is something that took me several years to develop and I can share my experience in a private workshop. In this case, we will organize a magical shoot, I will provide the professional model, clothes, location and everything needed. I can teach you from the basics of how to use your camera and shoot in manual to how to find inspiration and create surreal shots. I will point you in the right direction rather than critisize, explain my own choices and why certain things work for one shoot and don't for the other. When I started 8 years ago I felt intimidated to work with models so I can show you how to give proper directions if needed and how to overcome your shyness. After the shoot we can take a look at your pictures together and discuss the possible ways of processing them. There's so much more to say about what I could deliver during the workshop but I don't want to make it too long, so drop me a message if you want to know more.
