My name is Yonus Ford and I am a visual storyteller. I was born in Oakland California and moved over to Las Vegas when I was 7. From the time I could remember, I have always had a passion for fine arts. In grade school I excelled in any of the artistic extracurricular activities, and that followed me throughout highschool and my higher education. I started doing videography and film when I was just a boy. I would draw flip book animations by drawing each frame. I then progressed in making stop motion animations by using the one flip phone I had to take pictures of each frame and then editing them and putting them all together. I then graduated to making short skits with my friends. Over the years I look back and seen where I have come from, and I can honestly say that I have came along way. However, my journey has just begun. As a professional now, there is still much to learn in my field but I have the experience to go fourth. Im passionate about visual storytelling because I strongly believe that video is not only the way of the future but it also has the potential to persuade and help those who are in need. Video and film is a vehicle in which I express my imagination, concern and emotional state. My goals and aspirations as a filmmaker are to create stunning and emotionally attaching films that express deep rooted problems that people have, and continue on my journey in becoming one of the greatest filmmakers of my generation. My biggest influences as a filmmaker are, Ridley Scott, Robert Zemeckis, Steven Spielberg, and David Fincher. These directors have a unique style of storytelling that's why I am so drawn to their work.
