About Me

I'm mainly focused on doing film work with vintage film cameras; I collect and rebuild cameras from the 1930's through the 1960's, and am striving to get images that have a bit of a timeless vintage feel.  I primarily work with B&W, but I am starting to dabble in color.

My goal over the next couple of years is to build up a body of work that would be suitable for a gallery showing.  This would be a diverse collection of images that includes nature/landscape, street work in various cities, as well as a series of pictures with a model that possibly tells a story of a person.

To best tell the story I have in my mind, I feel the work has to be diverse; street work, small coffee shops with nice ambience, thrift stores as well as intimate implied nudity scenes in older hotel rooms with ambience.  My own guidelines around nudity are to keep it very understated, hiding the nudity in the shadows or with delicate undergarments; enough where the viewer feels an intimate sense of being close, but not overt enough to show the nudity (hide it in plain sight).

As an overall story, a guideline to think about would be a good novel; you want to keep reading, you want to know more about the central figure, but you are never left feeling as though you fully know who this person is or what is next.  The photographs should be like turning the page of a novel, always wanting to see what is next.

Above all, I want to do a collaborative effort with someone who also wants to tell a story, wants to enjoy the journey, and someone who brings ideas to the equation.
