Inclusive photographer looking to work with diverse models.


Benjamin Oliver's artistic training began in Britain. Starting at Thurrock Technical College Art Department and ending at the Royal College in London.

His training was in the Bauhaus tradition of multiple disciplines including; Life drawing & Painting / Sculpture / Graphic design / Printmaking and Photography. Upon graduating college Benjamin pursued photography by moving to New York, where he continued his training with Annie Leibovitz and Barry Lategan, the latter of which had a significant influence on him. Not just in terms of technique and composition but the manner in which the studio and the shoot were conducted.

Starting a shooting career at the same time as the emergence of Rap and Hip Hop and living in Brooklyn, Benjamin was well placed to understand and appreciate the musical form. Numerous editorial assignments followed shooting portraits, fashion, sports, Still Life etc.

Irrespective of the client Benjamin takes great pleasure in shooting. With speed and simplicity of technique. Concentrating more on the psychological disposition of his subjects with regards to their feeling comfortable in front of the camera. There is little to be gained from a photograph in which the subject is uncomfortable. Benjamin's artistic background and colorful character are positive attributes to the process.
