I'm Kay, a freelance makeup artist based in Chelmsford in Essex.

I have always been very creative and I have a BA hons Fine art degree. This coupled with a love of makeup products and application has lead me to begin building my career in the industry.

Whilst studying on my Professional Makeup course at the Essex Hair and Makeup Academy I discovered that a strength was being able to keep a steady hand during timed assignments, keeping the work fresh and clean whilst working to a creative concept or a specific look.

I have since built up my kit and I use MAC, Laura Mercier, Too Faced, NYX, Clinique, Anastasia Beverly Hills and Becca.

I am keen to work with Photographers, models and hair sylists on test shoots to build on my portfolio, experience and to practice and improve upon my existing skills.

I spend a lot of time working on my product knowledge, researching fashions ahead of the current season and new methods of application as I feel that I will never stop learning, especially with current trend shifts and the number of new products and brands available.
