SAIC grad (that would be the expensive, pretentious school). Not full-time or professional, despite my degree.
I design what I want, largely for my own interest or to work through an idea that I want to try. Nothing is particularly innovative or daring; I just have ideas that I like to try and make work sometimes. Maybe it's trying to remake a historically accurate kyrtill, sometimes working on a concept for a gambeson, sometimes just a basic pair of jeans that I want to alter fit on.

Since everything I make is a one-off (I have no interest in dealing with the pressures of being a working designer - fuck that shit), I think that some degree of collaboration with a model is essential. After all, since whatever I make is going to end up being sized solely for that individual person (and won't be made again, because I have no motivation once I've proved I can do it), they're going to be the one walking away with it at the end of the day. If they don't want to own and wear what I'm designing, then what the point in using *that* person, instead of *this* person?

No wedding dresses or ball gowns, no formalwear; I do almost exclusively sportswear.
